2021 Pandemic/Essential Employee Child Care Payment Assistance is designed to help support essential workers so they can stay on the job during the COVID-19 emergency. Through payment assistance and a network of temporary care locations, parents who work in specific occupations can have support accessing child care until August 31, 2021. Parents who are already approved for this payment assistance will not be required to take any additional action. Parents who are not receiving this service, and are interested in applying can do so until April 30, 2021, by clicking here.
Child Care Payment Assistance (e.g., the Smart Steps and Child Care Certificate Programs) is available for parents who are working and/or in school and meet income eligibility requirements.

The Tennessee Department of Education and Trevecca University’s resource, Bridging the Distance: Family Remote Learning, is specially designed to help families navigate remote learning and better understand the common tools and programs used by educators.
The department has also partnered with Hoonuit to make available a site finder for families on where the closest meal services will be available to them. This meal finder will be updated daily with information reported from districts to the department.
